As a final gift to all their fans that have been so loyal, the gang has made a last minute decision to play one final show. And what better occasion to end it all but a Christmas party.  That's right, on FRIDAY DECEMBER 11TH you are all invited to THE HOTS' CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA BIG BASH TO END IT ALL.  A friend of the band (a scholar and a gentleman) Bo, has opened up his loft space to host the party.  Bo lives at 225 Sterling Road - Unit 1 near Landsdown and Bloor (see google maps link below. Double true!)  It's going to be another classic party as the gang will do their favorite originals for one last time, with some Christmas spice thrown in for good measure.  If you are planning on doing E that night, don't.  There is a very high risk of sensory overload with possible bouts of feeling 10 feet tall.

As usual the band will have some friends coming to pound out some pagan beats and electronic noise (as my senile grandfather likes to put it). An amazing band "The Eatons" will be kicking the night off.  Oh man, you don't want to miss these guys.  My gramps is their biggest fan.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This party is a BYOB event.  There will be plenty of mix and lots of cooling devices.  Please everyone, if you're drinking, don't drive.  Please, please, please.

Correlate this! and other Mod Club Stories
Here's a little example of correlation.  The Hots formed roughly three years ago.  Since that time we've seen awesomeness in North America reach an all time high, douche bags being called out left, right and centre, the green-car revolution, Sex In The City cancelled, the White Sox break an 88 year losing streak, a black president take office in America and a man walk on the moon.  Now I'm not saying that all these things were caused by the uncompromising indi-rock coming from The Hots, but you have to admit, it is a little suspicious.  There's no reason not to believe that The Hots weren't unresponsible for all these things.  It also may not be a coincidence that every time they play the Mod Club I lose a little bit of my brain, from my mind being blown like a dime store didgeridoo.  So this coming Saturday February 21st parting with a little more of my grey matter as the band takes the Mod Club stage another token must see show.

One of the  truly great parts about this night is that it's FREE.  All you have to do is let us know that you're coming and show up before 10:30pm.  Those seem like very simple tasks.  The catch: if you come after The Hots have started their set the guest list will not be in effect and you will pay $15, which is never a good price when free was an option.  Two things, tell us and get there before 10:30, which is when The Hots plan on hitting the stage.  So do it already.  Coincidentally, did you know that that was the original pitch for Nike's "Just Do It" campaign?  It was given by two Italian guys from Queens.

Alright.  So let's sum up.  It hasn't been proven that The Hots are responsible for everything good that has happened in the last 3 years, but it also hasn't been proven that they aren't.  So really, what do you have to lose.  For instance, there's no reason not to believe that everyone will leave the show with a puppy (or mammal based pet of their choosing), and puppies rock.  ~Scoop

Christmas with The Hots Loft Party!
You know what I love about Christmas?  David Bowie.  When he sings that duet with Bing Crosby he kind of seems human (almost, anyway) and it gives me hope for mankind.  It's a Christmas miracle.  You know what else I like about Christmas?  Parties.  Which brings us to The Hots Christmas Party.  More Details>

The Hots Launch New Website!
I have a confession to make.  I used to know nothing about computers.  I mean nothing. I thought Macs were a regular sized McDonald's hamburgers before they got, you know, big.  I wasn't sure what a hard drive was but it sounded intimidating and a kind of disturbing, when my imagination dwelled on it too long.  I would often wonder what cyber-space was; could you rent it?  Is it affordable?  Will I be able to park my Datsun there for the winter?  I was hopeless.  Then MJ came to me and asked if I could possibly write something to launch The Hots website.  I smiled and said "Of course", but secretly I wondered what the H she was talking about.  After using several search engines, visiting many different blogs and combing through wikipedia, I discovered that a 'website' has something to do with 'the internet'.  I panicked.  How was I supposed to write about a topic I know nothing about?  Well, they say that necessity is the milf of invention, so I decided to join the 21st century and took a course on computers.  I'm not going to lie to you, three of my instructors died in freak suicide accidents and sited my ineptitude at computering as the sole reason.  But I wasn't going to let a few dead nerds stop me from achieving my goal.  No matter how many computer science graduates that weren't good enough to get IT jobs and were teaching night school at community college it took, I was going to learn about computerisers. The Hots and their NEW WEBSITE.  Have a look around.  You can listen to music, look at photos and see where and when the next show will be.  Dom has told me that there are lots of big multi-media and interactive plans for the site, which is exciting, if you believe anything a bass player says.  Also, if you check in regularly you'll be able to monitor my decent into e-holism that will be festering just below the surface of all my band updates.  You'll hear from me soon and often.
